Commissioner selected for leadership position

Camden County District 1 Commissioner Lannie Brant was reappointed to serve as chairman of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) Natural Resources and the Environment Policy Committee for the 2023-24 policy year. This committee is one of ACCG’s seven standing policy committees.

Three former Camden County Sheriff’s Office jailers have been indicted by a grand jury in connection to a brutal beating of an inmate in September, according to a news release from the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office.

Fourth Camden County Sheriff's Office jailer arrested in six months

A fourth Camden County Sheriff’s Office employee has been arrested in the past six months, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Ja’Coby Elvridge Anderson, of St. Marys, was arrested May 18 and charged with one count of simple battery and one count of violation of oath of office.
