A St. Marys councilman was arrested early Friday morning and charged with battery-family violence (first offense), according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office website. Artie Jones, 71, of St. Marys, was booked at 6:45 a.m. Friday and charged with the misdemeanor.

Funding has been approved for a new scoreboard at Chris Gilman Stadium. On Monday evening, St. Marys City Council voted 5-0-1 to approve providing $100,000 to the Camden County Public Service Authority toward a $313,244 jumbotron scoreboard. Council woman Lisa James abstained from the vote.
