St. Marys hires experienced community development director

St. Marys City Council added its final member to its legislative body, and the council approved a new community development director Monday during its regularly scheduled meeting. Chad Ingram was sworn in by Deputy City Clerk Priscilla Mejia before the meeting began.

Former St. Marys mayor dies at 72

Deborah Wooten Watts Hase, 72, a longtime public servant of St. Marys in multiple roles, died Sunday at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. During her time in St. Marys, she served in many capacities, culminating in one term as mayor (2002-05) and one term as a city councilwoman (2008-11).

Ingram rolls in St. Marys special election

Turns out, the second time was the charm. Tuesday night, Chad Ingram won the special election for St. Marys City Council Post 3 with more than 65% of the vote. It was his second bid for elected office. According to the unofficial results, Ingram received 1,062 of the 1,830  votes tabulated.
