Elise Lesesne Bean of St. Mary, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021.

For 40 years, she was married to Thomas Murray Bean Jr. Together they raised their children — Thomas Murray Bean III, Amanda Bean Morrow (Jim) and Cameron Pratt Bean. One of the most precious parts of life for Elise was being the loving grandmother of Jackson Morrow, Dean Thomas Morrow, Nora Mae Morrow, Thomas Murray Bean IV, Clara Bean and Autumn Bean.

Born Aug. 24, 1959 in Greenville, South Carolina, to the late Marion Hollingsworth Lesesne Jr. and Norma “Kay” Lesesne, she grew up in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, graduated from College Preparatory High School in 1977, became a registered nurse at Trident Technical College, and served three hospital systems as a labor and delivery nurse. Some of her fondest memories were of the times she spent caring for and loving newborns and their mothers. Elise loved God and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone who knew her was touched by her kindness, humor and love.

Elise is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren; her brothers, Marion H. Lesesne III (Lori) and Sidney K. Lesesne (Marcie); her uncle, Arthur E. Lesesne (Mary Wyche); her aunt, Mary Ruth Aiken (Albert); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held Friday, Sept. 3. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Roper St. Francis Foundation, 125 Doughty St., Suite 790, Charleston, SC 29425 (please include a note
