Dr. Kathryn A. Brazauskas, 74, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away April 30, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and had resided in Fernandina Beach since 2009.
Dr. Brazauskas was the retired principal of Mary Lee Clark Elementary School in St. Marys. Her career in education spanned over 35 years in both teaching and administrative roles. She was highly regarded by her former pupils and some continued their relationship with her many years after being her students.
In retirement, she developed a love of quilting and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the daughter of her late parents, Charles T. and Dorothy E. (née Henson) Magruder and is survived by her husband, John Brazauskas; her sister, Jeanne Nyberg; stepchildren, Lynn Brazauskas and John Brazauskas Jr.; stepgrandchildren, Abigail Brazauskas, Trevor Brazauskas and Zachary Brazauskas; nieces and nephews, Melissa Robinson, Jeffrey Nyberg, Jonathan Nyberg and Matthew Nyberg; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Honoring her request, there will be a small family gathering to celebrate her life.
