Childers

Melissa Dean Childers, 47, of Valdosta passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Clearwater, Florida, on March 27, 1974.

She was a graduate of Valdosta State University, a member of First United Methodist Church, and was currently employed as a paraprofessional at Lowndes Middle School.

She is survived by her husband, William Paul Childers of Valdosta; her daughter, Avery Childers of Valdosta; and her parents, Terry and Delores Dean of St. Marys.

The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 in St. Marys at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Be Dave Brave (www.bedavebrave.com).
