Cobbs
Cheraine Chianta Cobbs passed away on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick Campus.
Cheraine Cobbs was born June 9, 1977, in Brunswick to Henrietta Nightingale Cobbs Francis and the late Clarence Lee Cobbs. Her stepfather, Edward Francis, played a prominent role in her life through the years.
At an early age, Cheraine became a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church and later attended the Journey Church in Yulee, Florida.
Cheraine attended the public schools of Camden County and the Job Corps in Albany. Cheraine was always a hard worker and worked at a variety of places including Taco Bell, Walmart, Our Daily Bread and GSI.
She loved life and spending time with her children, family and friends often traveling to different spots in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Cobbs; sisters Joy Boulware and Edlencia Francis; grandparents, Oliver L. Nightingale Sr. and Margaret Nightingale; uncles, Glenn Paul Nightingale, Oliver Nightingale Jr., Jessie Nightingale Sr. and Earl Nightingale; aunts Loretta Williams, Dollie Mack, Lydia Cobbs Smith and Jeanette Bullard Alford.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Halston Leander Cobbs; her daughter, Ciara Chianta Cobbs; her mother, Henrietta Nightingale Cobbs Francis; her stepfather, Edward Francis; her sisters Eboné Francis White (Jawann); Palicia (Daryl) Gilbert; Erica L. Francis; her brothers Cory Whitfield and Marcos Fuller; her grandmother Evelyn Coverson; her grandaunt, Eunice Cobb; her devoted godmother Yvette (Lewis) Burch; her godfather James Daniel (Linda) Hopkins; they mourn her passing alongside aunts, Martha Nightingale, Altheel (Nathaniel) Austin, Drucilla Nightingale, Valeria Nightingale, Florence Nightingale; Felecia Small, Pearlie Cobb and Linda (Timothy) Cole; uncles, Bishop Terry (Alice) Mack, Julius Cecil Nightingale, Timothy (Angela) Nightingale, Aaron Coverson, Leroy Coverson, Ted Coverson and Earl Alford; special cousin, Takeisha Drummond Green; special friend, Rochelle Lowry and children; and a host of sorrowful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 at Kinlaw Cemetery. Viewing will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the cemetery.
Final arrangements entrusted to M.D. Knight Mortuary, Woodbine. Masks are required and COVID-19 rules/restrictions apply.
