Cora Faye Moore Jones, 80, of Woodbine passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Services to celebrate her life, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Harrietts Bluff First Baptist Church, with Rev. Vernon Dillingham officiating. A visitation for family and friends, will be held one hour prior to service time.
Cora was born March 31, 1941, to Joseph Benjamin Moore and Lila Pearl Wainwright Moore in Butler. Coming from Ellaville, she had lived in Camden County since 1977. She was a paraprofessional with the Camden County School System, retiring in 2006. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsland (where she taught Sunday School), and Harrietts Bluff First Baptist Church. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was an avid reader, loved gardening, watching birds and teaching children that they could learn anything once they put their minds to it. She had a heart for children, and a compassion for others. She loved being with her family and loved family get-togethers. She loved communicating with her nieces and nephews, keeping in touch with them regularly. She never missed a birthday for her family and others.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Carlos Gene Jones Sr.; children, Carlos “Jonesy” Gene Jones, Jr. (Kaye), of Woodbine, Clinton Weldon of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Sonya Jones Respess (Gordon) of Jackson; brothers, Gerald Moore (Margie) of Butler, Eddie Winters (Belinda) of Louisville, Mississippi; a sister, Martha Kerr of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren, Danielle Garcia (Travis), Daniel Respess and Madison Jones; great grandchildren, Alex, Kinsley, and Arabella Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Winters Jr., Lawrence Moore and Brantley Moore.
