Donald Jack Kepple Sr., 75, of St. Marys passed away peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Donald was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Raymond Kepple and Stella Winebrenner Kepple. Coming from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mr. Kepple was a resident of Camden County for six years. He served his country faithfully by joining the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and Cuban Missile Crisis and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.

Donald was a Baptist by faith, and enjoyed spending his free time circling word puzzles and reading. He had a generous heart, serving as co-chair of the MDA Telethon in Fort Stockton, Texas, for five years, raising charitable donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and retired from Century Link Telephone Company as a cable technician after 34 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his adoring wife, Jane Koenning Kepple; his two sons, Donald Kepple Jr. and Jeffrey Kepple; one daughter, April Kepple; two brothers, Kenneth and Carl Kepple; two sisters, Louise Bullard and Rosemary Denning; seven grandchildren, Lucas, Kaitlynn, Coren, Kylie, Ryan, Casey and Chloe; five bonus grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, and three of his brothers.

A visitation was be held at Allison Memorial Chapel from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7. Burial will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
