Jimmie Amos Martin, 87 passed away on May 28, 2021, at his daughter, Jeanette’s home in Kingsland. He had been a resident of Kingsland for the past 44 years.

Mr. Martin was born on April 20, 1934, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late Clifford and Donnie Mae Martin. In December of 1955, he met the love of his life, Hilda Mae Pittman. They were married on March 5, 1956, and together they had six beautiful girls. They were married for 45 years until her passing on Dec. 20, 2001. Mr. Martin was extremely proud of his daughters and considered them and his wife his greatest blessings.

Mr. Martin was very proud and honored to be a part of Callahan Lodge No. 32 for nearly 50 years.  In 1973, he became a part of “The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons of the State of Florida,” the 161st Reunion Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Jacksonville since 1973. Mr. Martin retired from Rayonier in 1998.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his daughters, Mary Sue Martin and Shirley Latham; his brothers, Cliff and Billy Martin; and his sister, Cleo Martin Jones.

He is survived by his four daughters, Brenda Crews of Savannah, Hazel Hyers (Danny) of Yulee, Florida, Christine Lloyd (Greg) of Hilliard, Florida, and Jeanette Blackmon (Jeffery) of Kingsland; two sisters, Betty Webb of Valdosta and Helen Register of Nashville, Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends  at 10 a.m. for the viewing and 11 a.m. for the funeral service Wednesday, June 2, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Graveside will be at 4 p.m. at Jones’ Cemetery in Callahan with Masonic honors.
