Louise Salter Walker “Nannie,” 89, of Woodbine passed away on April 21, 2021. She was born Sept. 21, 1931 in Enigma, Georgia, to the late Wilson and Bessie Jane (Woods) Salter.
Louise resided in Jacksonville, Florida, most of her life and spent the final few years living with her daughter on Harrietts Bluff in Woodbine. She worked at Swisher International for over 30 years when she retired. Louise loved gardening, red birds, dancing, country and gospel music. Above all, she loved the Lord and her life was centered around her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and grace.
She was preceded by her husband, Raymond E. Walker, and great-grandson, Jaysen Lyric Riggins.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Jane W. Millan and son, Raymond E. Walker Jr.; grandchildren, Sheriff Mike Williams, Carey Godbold Riggins, Kelly Walker Morrow, Jessica Walker Fryer, Raymond E. Walker III, Christopher Walker and Sean McCaulley; great-grandchildren, Brandi and Jared Riggins, Zachary, Jacob and Luke Williams, Kaitlyn and Kirsten Newer, Ava Morrow, Madilyn Fryer, Liam McCaulley, and Gracie, MacKenzie, Leland and Kirstie Walker; great-great-grandchildren, Raelyn Louise and Charles Taylor Faison with longtime friends, Ruth Walker, Nona Logan and Audry Woods.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor James K. Pringle officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
