Jersey Anthony Wattley, 4 years old, of Dallas, Georgia, known by all who loved him as “Bubba,” left his earthly home and entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 4, 2021, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

While Jersey's time on earth was short, he was a true warrior who fought a long and courageous battle. Battling cancer at such a young age made him a strong and courageous young man. Throughout his short life, he faced many obstacles but met each challenge with a level of courage reserved only for the bravest among us.

Jersey enjoyed riding his bike, playing on the swing set and just being outdoors. When he was not enjoying time outside with his sisters, Bubba could be found in the lap of his beloved Daddy, whether it was watching television or just napping securely in his father's arms. Jersey was known for his big personality and his heart full of love for his family and his many caregivers. His beautiful and gentle presence will be forever missed.

Jersey is survived by his loving mommy and daddy, Darnell and Angela Wattley of Dallas; older sister, MaKaylon and twin sister Nyla Wattley of Dallas; sister, Casey; and brothers, Eli and Ezra of Rome; paternal grandparents, Henry and Leona Hanna of Kingsland; maternal grandmother, Denise Meeks of Cedartown;  maternal grandfather, Curry Meeks of Cedartown; and maternal grandfather, Buster Powell of Camden; godmother, Victoria Berrios; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends; birth parents, Chelsea Shirey-Cheek and Corey Boyett; birth grandparents and birth aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Christian Wattley, and maternal grandmother, Joanie Powell.

A celebration of Bubba’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Harvest Chapel Christian Fellowship, 480 Henrietta St. in Kingsland with Pastor Marcia Anderson officiating service.
