The Camden County Board of Commissioners’ first public meeting of 2026 ended with a surprise resignation. On Tuesday night, commissioners voted to accept Camden County Administrator Shawn Boatright’s resignation. His final day is March 9.

The future of Cumberland Inlet, the much ballyhooed 700-plus acre property on St. Marys coast, is uncertain for another week. According to a news release from the Camden County Joint Development Authority (JDA), JDI Cumberland Inlet LLC – the Jacoby Development-led entity currently in U.S.

School district: New Camden County football coach resigns

Camden County Schools announced Tuesday that Camden County High head football coach Jon Lindsey has stepped down due to “personal, unforeseen reasons,” according to a press release. “Out of respect for Coach Lindsey’s privacy, no further details will be released,” the release says.
While the St. Marys Aquatic Center has lost the city money, staff says it has plans to increase revenue during the 2026 season. St. Marys City Council also recently approved $322,650 in improvements to the Lazy River attraction.
