The sheriff’s office did not identify the inmate or indicate how the inmate died.

Nearly 2 1/2 years later, St. Marys City Council appears poised to begin a massive renovation project of the proposed new City Hall in midtown.
At its March 2 meeting, Council voted unanimously to table approving the renovation project, opting to punt the decision to a March 23 meeting.

On Monday evening, St. Marys City Council unanimously approved hiring Mike Mahaney as the city’s new manager. Mahaney, 76, served as the city’s top executive from 1990-2002.
