The Camden County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 on Tuesday to approve the 2026 fiscal year budget.Commissioner Cody Smith was the lone opposing vote.The $86.8 million budget was reduced slightly in the last few days, down from the projected $87,384,020 total.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America named Kate Parks, a family member of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, as the 2026 Southeast Military Youth of the Year. The teen received the honor during the organization’s annual Southeast Youth of the Year Celebration on June 11 at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.
