Voters Guide: State Senate, Cody Smith

Body
I am a small business owner with stores in St. Marys, Brunswick and Savannah. I know what it takes to budget and meet payroll, as I have never taken a loan or funding for my venture. I regularly sponsor events and organizations that help our community, including the Glow UP Suicide prevention 5K.

Voters Guide: County commissioner, Kevin M. Walker (D)

Body
I’m Kevin Walker. I’m a Democrat running for Camden County Commissioner of District 1. My platform is one based upon the concerns of the spaceport, managing the county budget, increasing opportunities for employment, infrastructure, diversity and inclusion and youth initiatives.

Voters Guide: County commissioner, Walter R. Spencer (D)

Body
I am running for Camden County Commissioner District 1 because I care about this county and especially the young people of this county. The majority our young people after graduating from our local high school or college must move to other areas because the job market here is limited.

Voters Guide: County commissioner, Patrick Tyler Murray (R)

Body
I am Patrick “Tyler” Murray and I aim to be your next District 1 Commissioner. As a fourth generation Camden County native and Camden County High School graduate, I attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and later University of Georgia, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in animal science.

Voters Guide: County commissioner, Lannie Brant (R)

Body
Born in Savannah, I was raised by my parents Bill and Selma Brant along with my seven siblings. After high school, I moved to Camden County in 1967. I enlisted in the United States Navy Seabees just shortly after moving here. I proudly served two back to back tours of duty in Vietnam.

Voters Guide: U.S. Representative

Body
There are five candidates — two Republicans and three Democrats — vying for the First District U.S. House seat. The Tribune & Georgian invited all five to share an introductory statement but only received responses from Republicans Danny Merritt and incumbent Buddy Carter and Democrat Lisa Ring. Democrats Joyce Marie Griggs and Barbara Seidman will also be on the ballot.

Voters Guide: School board, Cheryl Ann Honeycutt

Body
I’m here to ask for your vote. I’m not a politician. I’m a mother, wife and friend. A common citizen with common sense. As a mother, I live within a budget. I scrimp when times are difficult and plan for the future when times are bountiful. We must be pragmatic in how we implement change.
