Agencies unite for Child Abuse Prevention Month

In recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) hosted a pinwheel ceremony Friday at the Camden County Public Library in Kingsland, bringing together local agencies from across Camden County.

Camden County commissioners nix future airport project

A future replacement airport in Camden County is no longer cleared for takeoff. On Tuesday evening, the Camden County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to formally withdraw the county’s efforts to build a general aviation airport. Commissioner Ben Casey opposed the decision.

Kingsland Police Department arrest robbery suspect

A 55-year-old Kingsland man is behind bars after law enforcement officials said he committed two robberies, according to a news release from the Kingsland Police Department (KPD). Shawn Jerome Keaton was booked into the Camden County Jail at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, March 31.

Annual Wood Stork Birding Festival set for April 11

The Camden County Audubon Society will present its third annual Wood Stork Birding Festival from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at St. Marys Middle School. The festival will again host the popular live Birds of Prey show by Georgia Southern University’s Center for Wildlife Education from 11 a.m.
