Hope remains alive to give county taxing entities more time to decide if they want to adopt the state’s floating homestead exemption or not. Camden County local governments, including the county itself, are in the opt-out process, though that may not indicate which way the governments will go.

Camden County High School’s FBLA chapter was awarded second place in the Region 3 Georgia FBLA Sweepstakes Competition. This award recognizes chapters that excel in competitive events, which help members develop career, academic and leadership skills.

Newly-elected Camden County Sheriff Kevin Chaney honored a host of emloyees and area agencies for their response to an active shooter earlier this month during a ceremony Monday. “This is a recognition of some employees and community leaders throughout this whole county,” Chaney said.
