Heap sworn in as judicial appointee for Southern District

Margaret E. Heap will continue to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia after her appointment by the U.S. District Court judges of the Southern District. Heap took the oath of office Monday, Dec. 15, in the courtroom of U.S. District Court Judge R. Stan Baker.

City of St. Marys OKs 45-day build moratorium

The city of St. Marys met late Tuesday, Dec. 9, to approve an extension of an existing moratorium on any new planned development district, major rezoning, mayor plat applications and civil plan reviews. The special called meeting, which convened at 9 p.m.

On April 18, 2020, Camden County’s Rachel Hodge, 26, died in a car crash. Her name, and legacy, will live on forever through the installation of the Rachel Hodge Memorial Intersection sign located at the intersection of Satilla Bluff Road and Pine Forest Drive.
