Kingsland Police Department capture out-of-state murder suspect

A traffic stop Monday by the Kingsland Police Department resulted in an out-of-state homicide suspect being detained, according to a news release from the law enforcement agency. According to Kingsland police, a patrol unit stopped a 2021 Kia Sorento that was traveling over the speed limit.

U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter supports ending shutdown

U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter was in the majority on two major votes in the last week. On Nov. 12, Carter voted in favor of a bill to reopen the government – ending the 43-day shutdown that saw citizens lose SNAP benefits and some government employees not receive pay.

Council OKs idea for city welcome packet

St. Marys City Council tasked city staff to create a welcome packet for newcomers interesting in buying houses or opening businesses in the city’s historic district. Council member Jeremy Nascimento pitched the idea to council members Monday night during a regularly scheduled meeting.
