GEFA addresses budget amid chaos

Saltwater Performing Arts was thrilled and honored to win the Georgia Theatre Conference Community Theatre Festival First Place Award in October. This victory earned them the right to represent Georgia from March 19-23 at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in Baltimore, Md.

Former superior court clerk dies

Three-term Clerk of Superior Court of Camden County, Susan Waldron, died Monday. She was 82. The current clerk, Joy Lynn Turner, said Waldron first joined Camden County government as a juvenile clerk in 1999. She ran for election in 2003 and served the first of three terms starting in 2004.

Cities pursue opting out of homestead exemption

House Bill 581, passed by the Georgia General Assembly in its last session, gives municipalities across the state the option of using a floating homestead exemption. St. Marys City Council members decided in a special meeting Tuesday to go through the process of removing the city from those covered.
