A new RV park for St. Marys is closer to reality following the City Council’s recent unanimous vote granting a rezoning request for an area along Beverly Street and Sandhill Road. The park developer estimates the development would generate around $350,000-$500,000 annually in city taxes.

St. Marys Mayor John Morrissey announced this week he is not running for a fourth term as the city’s top politico. Morrissey, a Charleston, S.C., native, was first elected mayor in 2013 after one term as a city councilman. He was most recently re-elected in 2020 with 52.
