KIRSHFIELD — Sgt. Maj. Alfred Fleetwood Kirshfield, 93, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away Nov. 5, 2022, peacefully at his home.

He was born June 25, 1929, in Fort Benning, Ga. He met his wife of 63 years, Barbara, while they served in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he traveled to Okinawa and Germany, among other places. He participated in Operation Homecoming, where he had the honor of escorting a Vietnam prisoner-of-war home. Alfred and Barbara were avid Camden County Wildcats fans, and went to every game for many years. You could always find them sitting on the visitor’s side.

He leaves behind his daughters, Janice Kirshfield and Sherra Nuttall (Tim); seven grandchildren, Eloise Patterson (Michael), Brianna May (Brandon), Vivian Hornesby (Clester), Kevin West (Denise), Alex Nuttall (Ashleigh), Keith West and Garth Nuttall III; and nine great-grandchildren. 

Services will be held at a later date.
