MESRAR — Amber Mesrar, 36, of Norfolk, Va., parted her journey Oct. 25, 2022, at her residence after a courageous and long battle with mental health. Amber’s pain became unbearable, and she will forever be remembered for the love that she had for her children, husband, family and friends.

Amber was born Feb. 10, 1986, In Groton, Conn., to parents Butch and Cheryl. Amber also had an older brother, Blair, whom she grew up with and they loved to pick at each other. Amber’s younger years were spent traveling many states as her father was in the U.S. Navy. Amber had made numerous friends in Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, South Carolina, Virginia and Minnesota. Amber’s most joyous times during her younger years were visiting both sides of her parents’ families in Minnesota, time visiting with grandparents, seeing snow, catching lightning bugs in a jar with her brother and cousins, going to the beach, arts and crafts with her mom, and going to the zoo with her family.

Amber was a free-spirited soul who challenged everyone who crossed her path to go out of their comfort zones to find their own true identity in themselves. Amber loved making others feel better about themselves and helping them find a deep meaning of love for themselves. Amber graduated Dec. 22, 2011, from Charleston Cosmetology Institute with a cosmetology license. On Feb. 18, 2016, Amber graduated from Chrysm Institute of Esthetics in Virginia Beach, Va., with a degree as a licensed master esthetician.

Amber’s pride and joy were her two children, Kayleigh and Mason. Amber gave each of the grandparents special names that the kids call them today: Papa Papa (Butch), GG (Cheryl), Papa Rich, Grandpa and Grandma Stark. She loved taking her children on trips and ensured that they spent time with the grandparents, something she cherished. Amber enjoyed listening to music of all genres, spending time with her husband, and posting Timehop photos of special memories in her life on Facebook with her family and friends. Amber loved taking photos, and capturing her family, friends and nature.

Amber was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronald Krell.

Amber is survived by her husband, Nadir Mesrar; ex-husband, Jay (Heather) Stark; daughter, Kayleigh Stark; son, Mason Stark; mother, Cheryl (Richard) Barnard; father, Arlen Butch Kemp; brother, Blair (Jane) Kemp; grandparents, Arlene Krell, and Wilbur and Faye Kemp; step-sisters, Ashley (Skyler) Wynn, Raquel (Chris) Smith and Rachel (Derek) Hernandez; parents-in-law, Hamid Mesrar and Bouchra Maaroufi; sisters-in-law, Zineb Mesrar, Alham Mesrar Semlali and Fouzia Mesrar; brothers-in-law, Achraf Mesrar and Imad Mesrar; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other family and friends.

Amber’s journey was celebrated 11 a.m. Nov. 13, 2022, with a private invite from the family. Thank you to all whom loved Amber as much as the family.
