HARRIS — Minister Cassandra Diane Harris was born Oct. 28, 1957. Diane departed this life Oct. 30, 2022, at Mainland Hospital.

Diane was born in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Alberta and Samuel Harris. She was educated in the Baltimore city public schools and was a graduate of Forest Park High School. She attended Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. Diane received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from The Institute for Teaching God’s Word Theology Seminary in 2015. Diane started JC Outreach Ministry Foundation in 2007 to serve the community. She helped feed and clothe the community. Every year she organized a community festival. The outreach would provide free clothes, food, games, toys, singing and prayer for the community. She joined and became the lead singer of God Gospel Singers in 2001. The group was well known for their old-time gospel songs. Diane became vice president of the group in 2010. The group held its 20th anniversary in 2010. The beloved sisters of the group were Nancy Tyler, Bernadine Francois, Florzine Henderson, Bertha Caddell and Geraldine Pusha. She was employed with Amoco and Danforth Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation home facility as an activity director. Diane was also a licensed child care provider in her home for many years.

Diane was a member of Living Word Bible Church, led by Pastor Ronald Ross. She served as a Sunday School teacher and activity director. Diane enjoyed preaching the word to whomever would listen. Diane will be remembered for her giving spirit. She was always available to help anyone in need. Her outreach ministry helped many through prayer bring souls to Christ. Diane loved taking care of the elderly and children. She loved to decorate and received many compliments for her work.

Diane was a loving mother of three children, Shalis Gordon, Sean Gordon and Tamara Gordon, former spouse of Joseph Gordon; grandchildren Trayven, Jada, and Mya (Tamara); former spouse of John Provost and children (Delores Provost, John Provost Jr); grandchildren DeAundre, Jayson and Destiny.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her brothers and sister, Samuel Harris (Rita) of GA, (Michelle Harris of Baltimore, MD), Tamera, Quentin, Steven Maurice Harris (Deceased) Steven Harris Jr and Rico Harris, Stanley Harris of Baltimore, MD (Amy, Adam, Amber, Bria, Nina, Lakiesha); 13 nieces and nephews of Louisville, Kentucky and San Antonio, TX; Adam Harris of Baltimore, MD (Frank Richardson of GA), Alison Williams (Kelvin) Kelvin Williams Jr (Sean, Joshua, Jayden, Zion, Princess of GA), Sean Williams (deceased), Alexander Williams (Danesha) Tylan, AJ, Trintee, Trevor Williams, Ciara Williams (Nyla and Maria); a host of cousins and friends.

Special love and thanks for my sisters in Christ, Ophelia Ward of Maryland, Bertha Caddell of Texas, Mel Jones of Texas, Debra Milton of North Carolina, Margaret Walker of Texas, Nancy Tyler of Texas and Geraldine Pusha of Texas.

A viewing will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at Harvest Chapel Christian Fellowship Inc., 480 Henrietta St. in Kingsland. Interment will follow in Kingsland Cemetery.
