PANZONE — Christena Lynn Panzone, 40, of St. Marys, Ga., passed away Oct. 30, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga.

Christena was born in Brunswick, Ga., to Tony and Lynn Panzone on May 12, 1982. She has lived in Camden County most of her life. She was in the marching band and graduated from Camden County High School in 2000. She attended Coastal College of Georgia and Oral Roberts University. She received an associate’s degree in digital graphic design in 2007 from Florida Community College and received her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership at Valdosta State University in 2017. She was a member of Southeast Community Church, and she was part of the audio-visual team and the Ravens of Elijah ministry at church. Christena enjoyed volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity, abstract art, and loved Disney. She loved her family, and her only sister, Maghan, was not only a sister, but also her best friend.

Survivors are her mother, Lynn Panzone of St. Marys, Ga.; sister, Maghan Panzone of St. Marys, Ga.; nieces and nephew, Cheyann Jacobs and Hope Jacobs, both of St. Marys, and Nathan Dougherty of Blackshear, Ga.; cousins, Chad Jones, Jennifer Sweat, Anthony Batovsky, Priscilla Harvey, Joshua Smith, Joy Lynn Smith and Brianna Smith; bonus mom, Debbie Dahlke; and best friends, Tara Nixon and Melissa Dahlke. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Panzone; grandparents, Carnell Smith Sr., Vivian Smith, Alice Panzone and Louis Panzone; aunts, Carol Clevenger and Donna Thomas; and uncle, Carnell Smith Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Jones, Joshua Smith, Nathan Dougherty, Tommy Freeman, Bill Taylor and Martin Turner.

A visitation will be 12:45-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, with services starting at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Steve Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
