Terry Newman Clements, 71, of St. Marys passed away the March, 18, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Hospital in Brunswick, Georgia.

A native of Brunswick, Terry was born the March 2, 1951. From an early age, Terry showed tremendous skill in the areas of music, science and mathematics. She received multiple awards for her talent playing the piano, and ultimately graduated with highest honors from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics.

Terry taught honors-level mathematics at Camden County High School, where she was recognized for her superior performance as an educator, and was consistently selected as one of the top teachers by the student body.

One of Terry’s passions was family history. She was an accomplished genealogist, and had traced her family lineage back over 1,300 years.

Above all else, Terry loved being a mother and a grandmother. Her love of her family was boundless, and she will be missed dearly by those she left behind.

Terry is preceded in death by her father, Terry O’Neil Newman, and her daughter, Laura Elyse Lemieux. Survivors include her son, Michael A. Clements, his wife, Vanessa, and their son, Marcus, of Atlanta; her sister, Carla Pace of Brunswick; her mother, Joyce Newman of Brunswick; and her granddaughter, Emma Lemieux of Charleston.

A memorial service was held at St. Marys United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26 (106 Conyers St. East, St. Marys, GA 31558).
