Joseph K. Crawford, 77, passed away at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021.

He was born in Alma and proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force as a B52 mechanic during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge he returned to Georgia and worked for the Gillman Paper Company. After that, he worked as the manager of an auto body shop for over 35 years. Upon his retirement five years ago, he and his wife, Diana, came to live in the Crescent City area coming from Jacksonville. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diana, of Crescent City; a son, Joseph E. Crawford of Jacksonville; and daughter, Candy Lorraine, and her husband, Simon Cannon, of East Palatka; a sister, Mary Woods of Charleston, South Carolina; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

An announcement for the memorial service will be announced at a later date.
