BROWN — David Godwin Brown, 68, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Liverpool, England, Dave was the eldest of two children. He and his wife, Diane, met in Johannesburg in 1975, married in 1982 and moved to California in 1985. They finally relocated and settled in St. Marys, Ga., in 2007. Dave loved and lived life to its fullest. He was a fabulous musician and loved to travel. His nieces and nephews were his life, and he was always so very proud of all their accomplishments. He was the best husband, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend anyone could ask for and will be sorely missed, although kept close to all our hearts.

Dave is survived by his wife, Diane Brown; sister-in-law, Jenny Whitt; nephew, Kamden Olsen; nieces, Kendell Whitt and Natalie DeLoach (in marriage); great-niece, Emma Tickell; great-nephew, Henry Cash of St. Marys, Ga.; brother, Neil Brown; nephew, Gareth Brown (Amanda Brown in marriage); niece, Lindsey Brown; and great-niece, Savannah Brown, all from England.

There will be a funeral mass service 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Our Lady Star of the Sea followed by a reception at the Brown residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Our Lady Star of the Sea, 106 Dillingham St. E, St. Marys, GA 31558

Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
