BUTLER — Ethel Lee Butler, 83, of Woodbine, Ga., went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022.

Ethel Lee Butler was born Nov. 3, 1939, in Folkston, Ga., to the late Doris London and Lovie Mason. She attended several churches over the years, where she was a dedicated servant. She loved singing and helping others whenever she could. She enjoyed cooking, going on walks and listening to gospel music. She was a cook for 20-plus years at the Morale Welfare and Recreation Child Development Center in Kings Bay, Ga., where she retired doing what she loved.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four sons, Julius Smith, Jerome Smith, Robert Lee Smith and Johnny B. Baker Jr., and one daughter, Kathy Smalls.

Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted husband, Willie Lee Butler; three sons, Daniel Baker (Angel), Joshua Baker (Avis) and Michael Smith (Courtney); daughter, Cherise Bacon (James); son-in-law, Charles Smalls; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be noon Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at Wheeler Street Church of God, 900 Wheeler St. in St. Marys. A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. Masks are required.
