Ellis Hall Howard, 72, of Woodbine passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at Bay Harbour Church of God with pastor John Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Colesburg Cemetery with Robbie Gowen, Dalton Gowen, Garrett Howard, Grayson Howard, Aaron Howard and Danny Morgan serving as active pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time.

Ellis was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Ludowici to James Hall Howard and Elizabeth Lucille Middleton Howard (Sapp). Coming from Mt. Pleasant, he had lived in Woodbine since 1962. He retired from The Lodge at Cabin Bluff in 2013 after 40 years of employment. He was an avid traveler  and outdoorsman. He was a simple man that loved his family, and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Ellis was an active and faithful member of Bay Harbour Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Dr. Terry S. Howard of Woodbine; his mother, Lucille Howard Sapp of Woodbine; his children, Kay Gowen (Clay) of Waynesville; Aaron Howard (April) of Woodbine; Lindsey Morgan (Daniel) of Neptune Beach, Florida; stepchildren, Shane McLain (Karla) of Brunswick and Ashlee Fountain (Lance) of Warner Robins; a sister, Mary Annette Woolsey (Wayne) of Brunswick; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two nieces.
