DINKINS -— Jewell Yvonne Johnson Dinkins, 83, of Waverly, Ga., passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022.
She was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Hilliard, Fla., to the late Billie Marie Johnson and Raiford Johnson.
Yvonne was a Christian woman who enjoyed sewing, quilting, crochet and gardening. She and her husband, Gene, were avid dancers, including square dance, jitterbug and several ballroom dances.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Marie Dinkins, and brother, Ronnie Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert “Gene” Dinkins Sr.; three children, Robert Dinkins Jr., Victoria Lynn (Pete) Peterson and Jacqueline (Jeff) Garrison; six grandchildren, Julia Browning, Hillary Kelly, Tyler Garrison, Sean McManus, Taylor Garrison and Tanner Garrison; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Paulette Johnson Kilgore.
A service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Homeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
