Karl Lee Lilly, 60, passed away peacefully while reading his Bible early Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, 2021, at his home. Karl was born on April 24, 1961, to Jean Weaver in Moab, Utah. His adopted parents were Karl Lee and Sally Lilly, and he grew up mostly in Beckley, West Virginia. He attended Staunton Military Institute up until 1975, when he returned home to help care for his mother after the death of his father. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, West Virginia. He worked various jobs over the course of his life, including drill rigging, coal mining, roof work, construction, operating a cotton gin and cooking in various restaurants as well as being a musician and playing in a professional band. He especially loved to play his guitar and sing all types of music, primarily Southern gospel. Sharing his faith in the Lord with others brought him the most joy.

He was preceded in death by Jean Weaver, his birth mother; both his adopted parents, Karl and Sally Lilly; his daughter, Erica Renae Shrewsbury; and his sisters, Carol Sue Martinez and Debbie Wilkerson. He is survived by his son, Wes Lilly of Tampa, Florida, sisters Patricia Wilkerson, Valerie Wilkerson and Brenda Wilkerson of Eastman, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will dearly miss him.

Allison Memorial Chapel is handling his arrangements by cremation.
