Gillis Daniel Morris, 30, of Kingsland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
A visitation for family and friends was held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, Heaven's Point International Church, with a private funeral service to be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys at a later date.
Gillis was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on Jan. 12, 1991, and lived in Kingsland all of his life. He attended Heaven's Point International Church, taught occupational safety at Camden County High School and was a football coach for Camden Middle School. Gillis was a 2009 graduate of Camden County High School and a graduate of Valdosta State University. Gillis was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
He enjoyed trucks and modifying and accessorizing them. He was well loved by many and considered everyone he met a friend. Gillis was a big man with a big heart.
Survivors include his father, Timothy O. Morris of Douglas; his mother, Lorrie Gillis Morris of Kingsland; his brother, Tim Morris (Courtney) of Black Creek; niece, Olivia Morris; grandparents, Neal and Laurelle Gillis of Pearson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by the late James and Eunice Morris.
