SCOTT — Robert William Scott, 72, of St Marys, Ga., passed away after a long illness at his residence Sept. 22, 2022.

Robert was born Oct. 25, 1949, in Nowata, Okla., to the late Ellis and Jo Anna Scott. Robert was an U.S. Army veteran, and he was with the 101st Airborne and came home with a Bronze Star. He worked for the Department of Defense as a range engineer in California and in Kingsland. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and loved being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Betty L. Scott; son, Robert William Scott Jr. (Barbara); two daughters, Tammy Scott and Dana Burgan (John); siblings, Earl Scott (Joyce), Jimmy Scott (Annette), Dorothy King and Betty Smith (Everett); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Scott and Johnny Scott.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at Our Lady Star of the Sea.
