NICHOLSON – Roger Lee Nicholson, 65, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away at his residence Aug. 8, 2022.

Roger was born May 19, 1957, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to the late Carl and Juanita Nicholson. He moved from West Virginia in 2005 and made Kingsland, Ga., his home. He loved his children, and they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed going fishing, kayaking, going to the beach and looking for shark teeth. His passion was being a truck driver. He was accident free for 46 years, and he was very proud of that. He was a five-time state of Georgia truck driving champion, and in June 2022, Roger was inducted into the Florida Trucking Association Hall of Fame.

Roger is survived by his girlfriend, Sarah Harkins, of Kingsland, Ga.; son, Roger Lee Nicholson Jr. of Colville, Wash.; daughter, Heather Dawn Nicholson of Vienna, W.Va.; brother, Bobby Lee Nicholson of Midway, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Lilian Joy Nicholson and Daisy Grace Nicholson.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 11, 2022, at Allison Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 12, 2022, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
