Patricia W. Scott, 79, of St Marys passed away at Life Care Center of Hilliard, Florida, on Nov. 16, 2021.

Patsy was born on May 21, 1942, to the late Eva and Clinton Wright Sr. in Brunswick. She has lived most of her life in St. Marys. She was a graduate from Camden County High School and Georgia Southern College, where she earned her degree in education.

During her career, she had worked as a social worker with adolescents in Fort Myers, Florida, taught GED classes in Fernandina Beach, Florida, was a school teacher and had worked at the St. Marys Welcome Center for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and was the first Mrs. Claus for the Christmas White Lighting in St. Marys. She was very outgoing, energetic and was a people person. She loved her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her niece, Julie Wright; and her nephew, Clinton A. Wright III; sister-in-law, Rosa Ann Wright, stepdaughters Pam Copeland (Rich), Kay Lyerly and Babs Shutt (Dave); great nieces Sybil Wright, Amanda Wright and Lyla Wright; grandchildren Katie, Paige, Jimmy, Gordon, Luke, Hunter and Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clinton A (Buddy) Wright Jr., and husband, Gordon Blitch.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Nov. 19, at St. Marys United Methodist Church and visitation will be held one hour prior to services, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Homeward Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Kelly Kennard, Rick Douylliez, Jay Lassiter, Bruce Beard, Joe Williams and Jerry Brandon.

Honorary pallbearers are Dredsel Walters, Shipper Boone, James McGhin, Jerry Lockhart, Pete Brandon, Mike Brodie, Mike Love, Pat Lee, Donna Hampton, Julie Banks, Anne Herring, Mary Gibson, Bitsy Bedingfield, Gloria Douglas, Cecily Hill and Donna Pickering.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the altar fund at St. Marys United Methodist Church.
