HUBBARD — Willie Leonard Hubbard Sr., “Billy” as he was fondly called, was born July 16, 1947, to the late Arthur and Vivian Hubbard of St. Marys, Ga. He was a kind and good-spirited man who was well-liked and respected by everyone with whom he became acquainted.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Michael, Arthur Lewis, Eugene, Hosea and Wardell.
He transitioned home to his Heavenly Father on Nov. 8, 2022, with his loving wife, Willie Marie Waye Hubbard, of 53 years, by his side.
Besides his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Epsie M. Hubbard Roberts, Dion M. Hubbard and Willie L. Hubbard Jr., and three grandchildren, Dana M. Shine, Dion Marquise Hubbard and Shane T. Robertson.
He is survived by seven siblings, Elizabeth Sabb, Vola Mae McCartney, Fannie Lee Richo, Jack Hubbard, Fostina Mitchell, Sterling Hubbard and Enoch Hubbard; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Honorary burial services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road in Jacksonville, Fla.
Sunset Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
