Strickland
Mr. Edward Raynal Strickland, age 75, of Kingsland passed away on the morning of Thursday, July 1, 2021, at UF Health in Gainesville, Florida.
Mr. Strickland was born on May 25, 1946, in Mershon to the late O.L. and Clara Strickland. Mr. Strickland was a good, easy-going, and kind man. He enjoyed working and taking on new projects and he was very skilled and organized at fixing things and building. He could usually fix just about anything. He always loved helping other friends and family with his skills. Mr. Strickland was formerly employed by Gilman, Kraft Bag Division, but more recently he was self employed in land clearing. He enjoyed land clearing with heavy equipment and gardening (sometimes just for the vegetables to share with others). Another hobby of his was building show cars and hot rods. He was so generous and if he heard a need, he was quick to offer help when he could.
Mr. Strickland enjoyed his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc., and family was very important to him. There were many childhood memories that were brought up often, usually rehashed while sitting on the front porch.
He and his best friend, Janice Clemons, enjoyed 25 years of companionship. They would often be seen together at The Lunchbox, Waffle House, the donut shop or riding the golf cart touring St. Marys. They truly enjoyed helping each other and spending time together. They were very close and looked out for each other well.
Mr. Strickland also had many close friends that he enjoyed spending time with. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his sister, Marilyn Snipes; his brothers, James Strickland and wife, Beatrice of Orange City, Florida, Parnell Strickland, and Bobby Strickland and wife, Kathy, all of Kingsland.; his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his best friend and companion, Janice Clemons.
