John Osborne U.S. Navy VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Petty Officer 1st Class David Smith, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and a Camden County High School class of 2010 graduate, serves the U.S. Navy assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 81, which operates the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet.

School district takes helm of Chris Gilman Stadium

Camden County Schools added some properties to its facilities roster earlier this month, and one of those structures – Chris Gilman Stadium – comes with millions of dollars worth of necessary repairs, according to district administrators.

Incumbent state Rep. Steven Sainz faces off against Glenn Cook in a Republican runoff for the state House 180 seat.

The spring election season isn’t over just yet. The Republican nomination for Georgia House Seat 180 has advanced to a runoff pitting incumbent state Rep. Steven Sainz vs. political newcomer Glenn Cook. The General Primary Election Runoff is scheduled for 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.

Only 18.96% of Camden County voters cast ballots in the May primary.

Kingsland man pleads guilty to murder

A Kingsland man accused of shooting and killing his wife pleaded guilty to the crime recently, with the court sentencing him to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Octavin Devon Grace, 43, was in an altercation with his wife, Ruby English, at their apartment on Aug.

Attorneys for the Camden County Sheriff’s Office had good reason to feel positive emerging from the summary judgment hearing in federal court in Brunswick recently, regarding a lawsuit brought by Latoya James’ family after deputies shot and killed her in 2021 while executing a search warrant.
