Federal funds to combat feral hogs

There’s a long-running feud on Cumberland Island, and it doesn’t involve wild horses, a visitor’s management plan or plans to build a new dock. It’s turtles vs. hogs, and the turtles are receiving some much-needed backup.

At the Aug. 15 regular meeting, the Camden County Board of Commissioners recognized the Georgia Department of Transportation for its $750,000 contribution to improvements on Horse Stamp Church Road.

Camden commissioners approve multiple road-related contracts

Camden County commissioners approved a spate of road-related items Tuesday, Aug. 1, during a regularly scheduled meeting. During the meeting, commissioners agreed to purchase limestone for unpaved roads, and awarded two contracts connected to road repaving in the county.
