A strong relationship between the Camden County High School Career, Technology and Agriculture Education Department (CTAE) and Trident Refit Facility’s Apprenticeship Program has yielded positive results and helped prepare students for employment.

Camden County High School’s Fine Arts Academy is performing “An Evening of One Acts” today and Friday. Both performances are 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Theater students will perform one act of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” followed by one act from “Mean Girls Jr.

Sheriff, commission settle legal dispute

City manager: ‘Soft opening’ for city marina projected for Oct. 2

The city of St. Marys will soon be opening a city marina. On Monday evening, City Council unanimously approved the St. Marys Intercoastal Gateway Marina’s operations manual, budget, rules and fees. City Manager Robby Horton said the city staff is projecting a “soft opening” of the marina Oct. 2.

Sheriff honors women in law enforcement

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office honored women in law enforcement Sept. 12 as part of National Women Police Officer Week. Sheriff Jim Proctor honored the women of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office by providing a brunch for the women employees of the agency.

Pay bump coming for county first responders

Camden County first responders will soon receive a pay increase after the Camden County Board of Commissioners approved a new salary scale for employees. Commissioners voted 4-0 on Sept. 5 to approve the salary increases. Commissioner Jim Goodman was absent from the meeting.
