Community Art Center touts July artist of the month

The Community Art Center will host an artist reception for its Artist of the Month of July, Mary Ann Clawson, from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at 2006 Osborne Road in St. Marys. Refreshments will be served, and Amanda Mood Music will perform on the front porch.

College of Coastal Georgia breaks ground on building expansion

The expansion of Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Hall at the College of Coastal Georgia will give students in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences more realistic, hands-on, clinical experiences in a safe and controlled environment — but first, the new addition needs to be built.
A Seafarers Memorial is planned in downtown St. Marys. The memorial will honor all lost at sea, but is being resurrected in response to the loss of Dalton Conway, Caleb Wilkerson and Christopher Tyler Barlow, who went missing in October 2023 and were never found.

58-year-old sentenced to life in prison

A 58-year-old Kingsland man was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to two sex crimes involving a 14-year-old girl, according to a news release from the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
