New leader takes command at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay

Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay welcomed new leadership last Thursday morning as Capt. Bill Dull succeeded Capt. Chris Bohner as commanding officer.   “It is great to be home here in Kings Bay,” Dull said in a change of command ceremony at a packed base chapel.

Report: Police track man accused in gas station armed robbery

It didn’t take long for law enforcement officials to track a man accused of armed robbery of a nearby gas station. According to St. Marys arrest report, officers located 52-year-old Shannon Melvin Tanner a little more than an hour after an armed robbery report was called in to dispatch.

St. Marys man faces 27 charges

A 59-year-old St. Marys man provided his own explosive behavior on the Fourth of July, according to the St. Marys Police Department, but instead of independence, he found himself behind bars with 27 charges filed against him.
