13-year-old bitten by shark at Seaside

A 13-year-old Nassau County girl was bitten by a shark Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Fernandina Beach Fire Department. The release said at 2:26 p.m. Sunday, the department’s Ocean Rescue division was notified of a shark bite incident at Seaside Park, 2002 S. Fletcher Ave.

In celebration of Earth Day, Keep Nassau Beautiful partnered with Fernandina Beach Middle School to plant 300 Florida-friendly flowering plants.
