A home rout last Friday and another at a Jeff Davis tournament last Saturday lifted the Camden County boys dribblers to 3-0 for the season.

Early surge fuels Wildcat girls’ romp over McIntosh

Led by Mahliya Reeder’s 14 points, the Camden County girls put four in double figures and crushed visiting McIntosh County Academy, 55-17 last Friday for their second win.  Reeder sank a three-pointer and all five of her foul shots.

Divecats first and second at East Forsyth, gain state qualifier

The Camden County boys were first and the girls second, and the Divecats added a third state qualifier at the third annual Thanksgiving Invitational hosted by East Forsyth last Saturday. At the Cumming Aquatic Center, boys runner-up Maks Froula reached state with a 191.45 score off a 12.

Mat champ Wilder will stay a Wildcat at Northwestern

Ryder Wilder will stay a Wildcat once he concludes his decorated Camden County High wrestling career and travels north to compete collegiately. The three-time Georgia High School Association champion signed Nov. 12 to wrestle for the purple-clad Wildcats of Big Ten power Northwestern.

Next stop on Blount’s golf journey is James Madison

About a year after committing there, Camden County High golf standout Georgia Blount signed Monday to play at James Madison University. Blount was second in the Georgia High School Association state tournament both as a freshman and a sophomore, and third last spring.

Poole, Spencer, Jewell making jump to college softball

While Camden County High head softball coach Kayla Miller is thrilled for the prospects of future college players Addison Spencer, Lexie Poole and Alyssa Jewell, the three will leave big shoes to fill in Kingsland.

Camden boys, girls win handily in opening night sweep

The Camden County boys and girls hoopsters celebrated opening night with two routs of visiting South Effingham last Saturday. Neither the Mustang boys nor girls had nearly enough horsepower, the Wildcat boys speeding off in the second half, 77-49, and the girls clamping down defensively, 49-24.

Swim ’Cats first, second in Baxley

With five combined event wins, the Camden County High boys swimmers were first of nine teams and the girls second of 10 at the Appling County Turkey Trot last Saturday in Baxley. The boys, with 73 team points, won two relays and got individual firsts from Elliott Fayed and Carlos Barber.
