CCHS rifle excels in Navy qualifier, GHSA opener

The Camden County High NJROTC rifle program has qualified two teams for the Navy Service Championship through scores shot Nov. 20 at the school.  Top-15 placements were required to progress. Camden ranked second and 12th of 35 programs from around the country with 1,156 and 1,111 team totals.

Versatile Coleman wants to make impact at East Carolina

Knocking away passes or splitting the open field, David Coleman often brought Camden County fans to their feet. The versatile Wildcat’s next stop will be East Carolina after signing Dec. 3. “It felt like home,” said the defensive back, receiver and kick return ace.

Wildcat boys win twice

Wins over Valwood and Tattnall County last week pushed the Camden County boys hoopsters to 6-0 pending a Dec. 9 showdown with visiting rival Brunswick. The Wildcats will visit Coffee Saturday before a Brunswick rematch next Tuesday, this time on the road.

CCHS boys wrestlers top brackets at Danny Byron tourney

A dozen Camden County High boys wrestlers won their weight classes and 30 finished in the top three at the Danny Byron Memorial Invitational Invitational last weekend in Kissimmee, Fla.  Competitors were divided into White, Blue or Gold divisions over two days of matches.

Parrish, West score 17 each as CCHS girls trip Tattnall

Trailing by seven after a quarter at Tattnall County, the Lady Wildcat cagers rebounded to take a halftime lead and got 17 points each from Bri’Yonnah West and Lea’nah Parrish in a 59-51 win Dec. 2. West canned five threes, two each in the second and third quarters as the winners improved to 6-0.
