Camden girls win twice in Region 1-6A, rise to 14-7

The Camden County girls hoopsters extended their recent run to six wins in seven games, hammering non-region Statesboro and beating Colquitt and Richmond Hill in Region 1-6A contests. Winners of three straight, the Lady Wildcats rose to 14-7 overall and 4-2 in the region.

No place like home: ’Cat wrestlers delight fans, romp to Class 6A duals title

That’s what dominance looks like. Backed by a thunderous home crowd, the Camden County High boys wrestlers defeated Buford, 55-16 last Saturday afternoon for the Class 6A duals championship, their 12th straight Georgia High School Association (GHSA) title and 13th overall in the format.

Pruitt hired to lead Wildcat gridders

Camden County High has a new head football coach. The Camden County Schools board on Tuesday voted unanimously to hire former Fitzgerald and Appling County head coach Tucker Pruitt, succeeding Jon Lindsey, who resigned Dec. 30 for “personal, unforeseen reasons” after just a few weeks.

The Camden County High girls wrestlers won the Division 1, Area 1 duals title at Richmond Hill last Friday, beating Houston County in the championship match after defeating Colquitt and the host school in the first two rounds.
