Region 1-6A Offensive Player of the Year Mahliya Reeder poured in 26 points Tuesday night as the Camden County girls delivered a first-round state playoff knockout of Region 8 runner-up Collins Hill, 56-46 in Suwanee.

CCHS to open football season at Brunswick

Camden County High head football coach Tucker Pruitt draws a season opener on the road and two Region 1-7A trips to Valdosta in his first season leading the Wildcats. The ’Cats will visit Brunswick in the opener Aug. 21 before hosting Glynn Academy in the Frank Smith Classic Aug. 28.

Tift threes spell big trouble for ’Cats

The Tift boys drained a dozen three-pointers, five in a persistent fourth-quarter downpour that sank host Camden County, 65-56 in a Region 1-6A tournament play-in game Feb. 17. The Wildcats closed 17-9, a nine-game win improvement over last season. CCHS finished 6-of-27 from three-point land.

Rifle ’Cats win playoff, inch closer to state championships

The Camden County High rifle team stood one win from the Georgia High School Association championships after defeating visiting Westlake, 1,158-982 in a first-round state playoff Feb. 17. The Area 3 champions shot the day’s five best scores to dismiss the Area 8 sixth-seed.

Boys netters win, girls fall in 1-6A matches

The Camden County boys tennis Wildcats won their first two Region 1-6A matches last week and Tuesday, while the girls lost at Colquitt and Richmond Hill. This weekend, the boys and girls will play at the Jekyll Jam tournament before their first home matches in a month Tuesday against Lowndes.

Green wins long jump, Gilliard is second and third in Richmond Hill

Long jumper Sean Green won for the Camden County boys, and sprinter Lilliana Gilliard posted second and third for the girls in the Alley Invitational at Richmond Hill last Friday.  In the team standings, the Wildcat boys runners, jumpers and throwers placed sixth of 13 teams with 50 points.

Region matches unkind to CCHS soccer

The Camden County boys and girls soccer teams both came up empty in their first two Region 1-6A outings, both teams falling at Lowndes last Friday and to Richmond Hill Tuesday at Chris Gilman Stadium.

Camden boys romp to 6A traditional title; Wilder wins fourth state crown

The Camden County boys wrestlers built a huge early lead after the first day, and iced their 12th straight state traditional championship behind individual titles for Ryder Wilder, Hunter Prosen and Brock Weaver in Morrow last weekend. “I thought it went great,” head coach Jess Wilder said.
