Pruitt hired to lead Wildcat gridders

Camden County High has a new head football coach. The Camden County Schools board on Tuesday voted unanimously to hire former Fitzgerald and Appling County head coach Tucker Pruitt, succeeding Jon Lindsey, who resigned Dec. 30 for “personal, unforeseen reasons” after just a few weeks.

CCHS girls pin down area duals championship

The Camden County High girls wrestlers won the Division 1, Area 1 duals title at Richmond Hill last Friday, beating Houston County in the championship match after defeating Colquitt and the host school in the first two rounds.

Lady Wildcats defeat Tift for key 1-6A win, thump Tattnall

The Camden County girls never trailed last Friday to edge Tift for their second Region 1-6A victory, then improved to 11-6 overall by beating Tattnall County in a non-region home clash Tuesday. A trip to Valdosta will be Friday, and a home game with Statesboro Tuesday.

Victories lift Camden rifle squad to 5-0

Wins over Windsor Forest, Southeast Bulloch and Brunswick between late last week and Tuesday kept the Camden County rifle ’Cats unbeaten. CCHS stood 5-0 ahead of a Friday match against Groves. Next week are scheduled matches Thursday against Bradwell Institute and Friday against Savannah.

Wildcat boys cagers go to 12-5, beat Tift, Tattnall

Home victories Tuesday and last Friday boosted the Camden County boys to 12-5 on the season, a win over Tift their first in Region 1-6A. The Wildcats (1-2 region) look to even their 1-6A record Friday at Valdosta, then will host Statesboro Tuesday before returning to region action Jan.
