Frederica Academy boys defeat Wildcats on links

The Frederica Academy boys golfers posted four scores of 37 or better Tuesday to defeat Camden County, 140-161 at Osprey Cove. Freshman Archie Disanto had the Wildcats’ best score, a 37, while Dillon Brown shot a 39, R.J. James a 42, and Charlie Bera and Cash Dowling 43s.

Camden sharpshooters finish third at Navy Nationals

The Camden County High NJROTC rifle team placed third among 16 teams at the Navy Nationals Monday and Tuesday in Anniston, Ala. Camden shot a 4,635 total over two days against teams from Georgia, Indiana, Texas, Alabama, Washington, New Mexico, Florida, Virginia and Alaska.

Boys, girls net three soccer wins

The Camden County High boys and girls soccer teams conceded just one goal apiece while kicking off the season with three straight wins. Both teams shut out Brunswick and Valdosta last week before sweeping Pierce Tuesday at Chris Gilman Stadium.

’Cats card 310 total at Camden Classic

The Camden County High golfers posted a 310 aggregate for a ninth-place tie among 19 teams in the season-opening Camden Classic at Osprey Cove last Saturday. Thirteen of 117 golfers broke par, including the Wildcats’ R.J. James at 71.

CCHS baseball opens with three defeats

Two one-run decisions were part of three opening losses for the Camden County High baseball Wildcats last week and Tuesday. West Forsyth and Effingham edged CCHS after a lopsided loss to Glynn Academy in the opener. The Wildcats will play Lanier County today in the first of a four-game homestand.

Wildcat girls win, boys tumble in 1-6A tennis openers at Tift

The Region 1-6A openers for the Camden County High netters ended in a split last Thursday, the girls cruising, 5-0 and the boys falling, 4-1 at Tift. The girls lost just six games total in the singles, and rallied from a set down in both doubles matches to improve to 4-1 on the young season.
