Rifle ’Cats win fourth match, beat Brunswick

Shooting the four highest individual scores of the day, the Camden County High rifle team defeated host Brunswick, 1,158-1,111 last Thursday for its fourth win in four matches. Briana Dougherty set the pace at 293, followed by Skylar Sanford (292), Cheyenne Malone (287) and Brayden Ogden (286).

’Cat divers make splash at Colquitt invitational

The Camden County High girls divers placed first and the boys second Jan. 14 at the Colquitt County High School Diving Invitational. The girls were second through sixth individually. Alyssa Thompson (217.31 score and a 10.7 degree of difficulty) was followed by Jamie Walker (215.6 and 11.

Camden, SMMS split basketball doubleheader

The Camden Middle and St. Marys Middle basketball teams played to a split Jan. 15, with the Cougar boys and Bobcat girls prevailing in Kingsland. The Camden boys scored the first 19 points of the game, and that margin carried over to the 50-31 final count. St.

State duals next after ’Cats roll to 1-6A title

The Region 1-6A duals championship secured, the Camden County High wrestlers turn their focus to state this weekend and potentially another title showdown with host Buford.  Last Saturday, the Wildcats progressed to the 16-team Class 6A duals with another dominant region showing in Kingsland.

Girls rise to 13-5, beat Tift, Brunswick

The Camden County girls ran their region record to 3-1 last Friday before stepping out of conference play Tuesday night to knock off a nearby rival. Winners of four of their last five games, the Lady Wildcats improved to 13-5 overall by edging Tift County and Brunswick.

Boys hold on, trip Devils for first region triumph

The Camden County boys are on the board in Region 1-6A. The Wildcats turned away Tift last Friday for their first conference win (1-3) and seventh overall, then tumbled Tuesday at Brunswick. The region schedule resumes Friday at Lowndes and continues Jan. 24 at Colquitt before a Jan.
